Guinness World Record for Largest Online Poker Tournament

Posted under online poker & poker tournament & texas hold em tournament

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Full Tilt Poker Pro Takes on Poker Whiz Kid in $1.5 Million Battle

Posted under online poker & poker tournament & tournaments

FullTilt has just opened a new info site covering all the facts of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an amazing online heads up tournament involving some of the best big money online players competing against the Heads Up Specialist Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The brand new website section presents internet poker players and fanatics the chance to monitor this incredible durrrr challenge and check out frequent challenge details. With this innovative “durrrr Challenge” section players can follow all the poker action and check out each hand played during durrrr Challenge, and get lots of statistics, including how many hands were played, session time, cash won, average won during each hand and lots more.

About six months ago, the twenty-three year old online poker star issued a heads-up challenge for any poker player with the cash, time and ability to accept it. Any poker pro entering the poker challenge has to put up $500,000 against Dwan’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge states that at least 50,000 poker hands need to be played at the same time at 4 or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the heads up challenge, the poker player who has more cash will earn the pool. Basically if you enter the durrrr challenge and win $1 after the 50,000 poker hands, then you will win durrrr’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by $1 then he will win your $500,000.

To date, a number of poker pros have accepted to play the “durrrr challenge”, including seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, though, only Patrick Antonius has accepted the Full Tilt Poker Challenge. Until now, both players have taken part in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with durrrr up by $726,546 total.

If you would like to see more details on the durrrr poker challenge and Tom durrrr Dwan vs. Patrick Antonius, please check out http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/durrrr-vs-antonius

Is Boasting in Texas Hold’em Poker a Smart Tactic?

Posted under poker tournament & texas hold em & texas hold em tournament

poker room
One of the most loathed opponents at the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table most every time will constantly be the attention-seeker. You recognize the person I’m telling you about. He’s the player that finds a place at the Texas Hold’em table and makes evident you’re aware that he wants all of your no limit Texas Hold’em poker chips; exiting the no-limit Texas Hold’em table with the very same attitude that he arrived with. Even if the guy gets killed, he has the thought that he is the finest Texas Hold’em player hands down.

Though the majority of Texas Hold’em Poker players would prefer to keep away from opponents of this type, there exist other poker players who could say that show-boating may have its positive side. So, the question on everyone’s mind is: Is there honestly a clever no limit Texas Hold’em poker bragger or devious poker bragger? Boasting about how proficient you are in Texas Hold’em is essentially just like affirming: “I am the best no-limit Texas Hold’em player on earth, don’t forget to be on the ball while you’re sitting in a Texas Hold’em game against me!” Most certainly that is the nastiest vibe to give off playing Texas Hold’em Poker. Furthermore, giving away too much information about your Texas Hold’em Poker playing manner can be quite harmful to your no limit Texas Hold’em poker game. You most certainly do not want these individuals to know how you bet on specified Texas Hold’em Poker hands.

Moreover there are those Texas Hold’em players who might use showing-off as a sort of Texas Hold’em Poker technique, or bluff. Show-boating when you are dealt a specific poker hand may fool your opponents and puzzle them about your no-limit Texas Hold’em playing approach. There are a few people who may deem this plan somewhat unethical, but it is important to not forget that there are not too many rules against it in Texas Hold’em. No limit Texas Hold’em poker is all about working with what you got and utilizing it to the end.
